Jacob Misiorowski arrived in the professional ranks already tempered by the sort of interruptions that test whether a young arm is merely promising or genuinely durable. His senior season of high school ball was erased by the COVID shutdowns, then a torn meniscus ended his freshman college campaign after only two appearances. When he returned he was not merely functional but dominant, finishing 10-0 with 136 strikeouts in 76 innings. The Brewers selected him 63rd overall, yet scouts still questioned whether the raw velocity would ever be paired with enough strikes to let him start. Those doubts did not survive his first major-league outing.

He opened his career by throwing eleven consecutive no-hit innings and was named an All-Star after only five starts. The Brewers were then swept by the Dodgers in the NLCS, a result that might have suggested the usual ceiling for a hard-throwing newcomer. The following season he posted the league’s best ERA at 1.80 while striking out 252 batters. He first registered the fastest pitch ever tracked by a starter at 103.7 mph and then repeatedly surpassed his own mark. When the teams met again he helped reverse the earlier outcome, sweeping Los Angeles.

In the World Series he opened the series with the fastest pitch ever recorded in the Fall Classic, then delivered five scoreless innings in the clinching game. At twenty-four he became a Cy Young winner and the pitcher of record for the Milwaukee Brewers’ first championship. Off the mound he speaks openly of his faith and has not flinched from tears when the moment required them. The combination of early adversity, late-inning command, and unembarrassed conviction has already placed him beyond the ordinary arc of a rising prospect.
