Stephen Miller, as a prominent figure in the Trump administration, has consistently voiced sharp criticisms of federal judges, particularly those he perceives as obstructing Trump’s agenda. Miller has accused judges of overstepping their constitutional roles, arguing that individual district court judges should not have the authority to interfere with executive powers, especially in areas like foreign policy and national security. For instance, he has called out what he terms a “judicial coup” by “rogue” judges who block Trump’s deportation policies, such as the use of the Alien Enemies Act to deport alleged gang members, labeling their actions as a “lawless usurpation of democracy.” He contends that such judicial interventions undermine the democratic will of the American people, as expressed through the election of the president, who he believes should have unchecked authority to execute policies like mass deportations without due process.
 

Miller’s grievances with the media are equally intense, focusing on what he sees as their bias and failure to hold the Biden administration accountable while aggressively targeting Trump’s policies. He has accused the press of ignoring critical issues, such as Biden’s alleged mental decline during his presidency, claiming that for four years, the media failed to report that Biden was “mentally incompetent and was not running the country.” Miller has also lambasted the media for not covering stories he deems significant, like the FBI’s assessment of the Venezuelan Maduro regime facilitating gang members into the U.S., instead alleging that they “shill for MS-13 terrorists.” He views the media as a corrupt entity that pressures judges and politicians to “cave” to their narrative, as he claimed during the 2020 election fraud lawsuits, where he argued that even Trump-appointed judges ruled against the campaign due to media influence rather than a lack of evidence.
 

Regarding the Biden administration, Miller’s criticisms center on what he perceives as dangerous and discriminatory policies, particularly around immigration and racial equity programs. He has accused Biden of undermining democracy through executive orders that reversed Trump’s immigration restrictions, calling them immoral and undemocratic, as seen in his 2021 reaction to Biden’s first-day immigration actions, where he stated, “That is not who we are as a country.” Miller’s America First Legal group also challenged Biden initiatives like the American Rescue Plan’s relief funds for socially disadvantaged farmers, arguing they discriminated against white farmers, a stance that led to the program’s modification. Additionally, Miller has criticized Biden’s immigration policies for allegedly importing “terrorists” like Tren de Aragua gang members, claiming the administration’s open-border approach endangered national security, a point he emphasized during a 2025 press briefing where he highlighted the murder of a 12-year-old girl by illegal immigrants as evidence of Biden’s failures.
