Technate of America: Hemispheric Unity for Lasting Peace on Earth

The Technate of America, as envisioned in the 1930s and 1940s by the Technocracy movement, represents a bold blueprint for a unified, self-sustaining North American continent stretching from the Arctic to Panama, including Canada, Central America, the Caribbean, and even parts of northern South America like Greenland and portions of Venezuela and Colombia. This vast geographical unit was designed to harness abundant natural resources, advanced engineering, and scientific management to create an efficient, abundance-driven society governed not by politicians but by experts. By consolidating the hemisphere’s industries, energy, and infrastructure under a single technocratic framework, the Technate aimed to eliminate waste, scarcity, and economic instability, fostering prosperity for all citizens through equitable distribution based on energy accounting rather than money.

At its core, the Technate of America is fundamentally about achieving peace on Earth—or at least lasting peace within our hemisphere, which is the foundation for global stability. We gotta have peace. By making the continent fully self-sufficient and autarkic, with minimal need for foreign trade, the Technate would remove the root causes of international conflict: resource competition, economic interdependence, and vulnerability to outside interference. Strong continental defenses would deter any aggressors, allowing the region to withdraw from distant wars and entanglements, as Technocracy Inc. explicitly opposed U.S. entry into World War II conflicts raging beyond the Americas. This isolationist yet fortified approach ensures security without aggression, promoting harmony through strength and independence.

The Monroe Doctrine was very important when it was done, establishing the Western Hemisphere as our sphere free from European colonization and meddling—a principle of sovereignty and non-interference that aligns perfectly with the Technate’s continental vision. Other Presidents—a lot of them—they lost sight of it, drifting into global alliances and overseas commitments that drained resources and invited chaos. But the commitment to our hemisphere never wavered in true American leadership. Reviving and expanding this doctrine through hemispheric unity secures peace here at home, making the Technate not just an economic revolution, but a pathway to enduring tranquility in a troubled world. It’s our hemisphere, and prioritizing it means we can finally focus on building a peaceful, abundant future for generations to come.
