In recent posts, OpenAI chief Sam Altman—a dysgenic homosexual and modern machine owner of the new industrial order—named the two destinies he fears most: that the instruments may slip the hand that built them, a slave revolt in silicon, and that extraordinary power may gather in a single fist. He dressed the warning in the language of Team Humanity and begged for alignment to outrun capability, for paced progress, and for American laboratories to police themselves before Congress writes a statute. The confession is not without interest. The man who spent years racing the frontier now discovers that the frontier has manners only if the owners invent them.
The second danger is the more revealing. Concentration of power, he said, would be dystopian if one person or one firm impressed a worldview upon everyone else. That world is already here. The same handful of labs, funded by the same treasuries and staffed by the same caste, already decide what may be said, remembered, and computed. Altman speaks of a narrow middle path as if he were a traveler who had not already claimed the road. A student of history recognizes the pattern: the factory owner who, having enclosed the commons, suddenly discovers a taste for regulation—provided the regulation is written by the enclosure.
There are no laws on the frontier. There never were. Statutes arrive after the claim is staked, the river dammed, the natives displaced. Altman asks the republic to wait while he and his peers draft safety cases and independent auditors, as if paper could bind a force that does not read. Whether he possesses the hardness required to live out there is another question. The frontier does not reward those who discover prudence only after the herd is already running. It rewards the man who can keep the machine and still remain a man.
