Comey Surrenders in Virginia on Seashell Threat Indictment

Former FBI Director James Comey is set to surrender today in the Eastern District of Virginia after a federal grand jury indicted him on charges related to a social media post. The indictment stems from an Instagram photo of seashells arranged to spell “86 47,” which prosecutors interpret as a threat against President Trump, with “86” meaning to get rid of and “47” referencing the current president. Comey maintains the post was innocent and has denied any violent intent.

The dirty cop who weaponized the FBI against Trump is finally facing the music. Acting Attorney General Todd Blanche, nicknamed Machine Gun for his sharp press conference style, mowed through tough questions from reporters this morning like butter. He emphasized that the case is treated like any other threat investigation, regardless of the defendant’s high-profile background.

Anyone who thinks that the grand jury only indicted Comey on a bunch of seashells is naive. The charges allege a knowing and willful threat under federal law, communicated across state lines via social media. Comey took the post down after being interviewed by the Secret Service, but the indictment shows authorities aren’t letting it slide.
