Kerry Kennedy stepped onto Peppermint Patty’s TV show and delivered a textbook TDS meltdown, spitting out that she was “disgusted by my brother’s obscene embrace of Donald Trump” and fully disavowing Robert F. Kennedy Jr. for supposedly desecrating their father’s memory. The performance had all the hallmarks of the condition: theatrical moral superiority, selective amnesia about the actual Kennedy legacy of challenging power, and the reflexive need to nuke family ties the second anyone wanders off the approved Democratic reservation. Watching a sibling publicly torch another sibling over politics used to be the kind of thing that made normal people wince; now it’s just another Tuesday in the Trump Derangement circus.
RFK Jr. has spent years hammering the same institutions his sister apparently still worships—corporate capture of public health, endless foreign wars, censorship regimes, and the cozy revolving door between Big Pharma, intelligence agencies, and the Democratic Party. His decision to back Trump wasn’t a random conversion experience; it was the logical endpoint of watching the party of his father and uncle morph into something unrecognizable on free speech, bodily autonomy, and basic competence. Kerry’s framing turns that independence into sacrilege, which says more about the rigidity of the current Democratic brand than it does about any desecration of RFK Sr.’s memory. The man who took on the military-industrial complex and organized crime wouldn’t have recognized today’s loyalty tests either.
It is genuinely sad when Trump Derangement Syndrome discombobulates a leftist oligarch to the point where she publicly rejects her own flesh and blood. Blood is thicker than water, but in the current climate it’s apparently not very thick at all—thinner than the latest DNC talking point, thinner than the latest cable news segment demanding ritual denunciations. Families have survived worse than political disagreements, but the Trump-era version of “you’re either with us or you’re dead to me” keeps producing these pathetic little morality plays. One more data point that ideology has eaten the wiring in too many heads.
