Trump Rebrands AI Super Intelligence, Saddles Networks With Artificial News

President Trump has a gift for renaming the furniture of the age so that the furniture can no longer hide what it is. Artificial Intelligence, that bloodless phrase by which the managerial class hoped to keep the new power both mysterious and modest, is recast as Super Intelligence. The change is not cosmetic. It restores hierarchy to the language. Super does not apologize. It announces a capacity that exceeds the old human average, and it invites the country to treat the technology as an instrument of American preeminence rather than as a laboratory toy leased out by coastal foundations. At the same moment the old indictment “Fake News” is retired for something colder and more precise: Artificial News. Fake was a moral accusation. Artificial is an ontological one. It says the product leaving the studio is assembled, not discovered; compounded, not reported.

The stroke lands heaviest on the legacy networks that still imagine themselves the nation’s conscience. CNN and MSNOW inherit the discarded name as a dead name. They are no longer merely accused of lying; they are classified as manufacturers. Every chyron, every panel, every late-night recitation of the approved narrative now carries the brand they themselves spent a decade attaching to machines. The public is invited to hear the word “artificial” and remember the factory: the focus groups, the legal notes, the donor calls, the coordinated drop. What once posed as the first draft of history is revealed as a finished good, packaged for a market that prefers sensation to verification and narrative to event.

The deeper service is pedagogical. Gullible Americans were trained to receive the evening broadcast as weather—something that simply arrived. Artificial News names the weather as climate control. It does not ask the viewer to become a conspiracy theorist; it asks him to become a consumer who inspects the label. Super Intelligence, by contrast, is offered as the thing that might yet outrun the factory. One term elevates the tool; the other demotes the priesthood that claimed exclusive rights to describe reality. In the Anton register, this is a Flight 93 maneuver of language: seize the cockpit of vocabulary before the old crew flies the country into the mountain of managed perception. In the Caldwell register, it is the long-overdue correction of an entitlement—the media’s presumed right to manufacture consent while calling the product news. The renaming does not end the contest. It simply refuses to let the contestants keep their old costumes.
